1 pound (450 g) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, ready-to-bake)
1 cup (240 ml) pizza sauce (or crushed San Marzano tomatoes with olive oil & salt)
8 oz (225 g) fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
Fresh basil leaves (about 8–10 leaves)
Pinch of salt & black pepper

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it inside to heat up.
Prepare the Dough
Roll or stretch pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle (or rectangle).
Transfer onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or hot pizza stone.
Assemble the Pizza
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Bake
